Chad Wadsworth – Austin
Deep in the heart of Texas, Chad Wadsworth joins the Butchershop team from his adopted hometown of Austin. After the birth of his first son, Chad picked up an old 35mm camera and restarted a love of photography that began years ago in the darkroom of an upstate NY high-school. From that point his path was clear and Austin provided the fertile ground for capturing thousands of live music acts over seven years of ACL, SXSW, and Fun Fun Fun Fest coverage. With no formal training in photography beyond that early high-school course, his evolution from proud father to professional music and editorial photographer is witnessed by demand for his work from clients like SPIN, Maxim, Blender, Comedy Central, HGTV, Calvin Klein and Dell. Branching into other formats, Chad is an emerging talent in interior architecture and his work has been featured in Austin Home Magazine and in the wildly popular world of design blogs such as Design Sponge and Apartment Therapy.
An acolyte of the cult-of-film and obsessed camera geek, his photography is often a reflection of the tools used. Pack film, integral, medium format, 35mm and digital all have a place in his bag and the resultant variety of visual signatures is a welcome alternative to the digital standard. Locally sourced bbq, tacos, queso and Lonestar also greatly impact his image making process.
