Dusty Kessler – St Louis / Chicago

Dusty Kessler first fell in love with architectural photography after seeing the documentary Visual Acoustics, which explored the life and career of Julius Shulman. Growing up in St. Louis, Dusty managed to make connections early on even though opportunities in the touring photography business were few and far between. Often skipping school to shoot shows, it finally all paid off in ways he couldn’t have imagined when Rolling Stone published one of his photos. Since landing a spot on the Vans Tour, he has been fortunate enough to continue traveling the world and photographing artists. From touring with Justin Bieber and G-Eazy, to photographing Kanye, Drake, The Weeknd, and Future, Dusty has amassed a library of timeless images.

Mentored by renowned photographer Mark Katzman, Dusty was able to excel in commercial lifestyle photography being featured in publications such as Popular Mechanics and PDN. Through his time working with Katzmen, Dusty gained an appreciation for utilizing photography as a tool to give back. Throughout the years, he has done a number of projects with non-profit organizations in his community. He does this all without monetary gain and will continue to do so in an effort to use photography as a way to heal.

Dusty is relentless in his pursuit of catching and documenting the rise of his subjects, rather than documenting the fame. He’s always taken a unique approach in searching for the next Drake and getting that photo before anyone else takes it. He prides himself in finding younger, unheard artists who haven’t already been photographed and Instagramed to death.
